It feels so weird to be the last few remaining people in my circle of friends (in real lifen not to say my forum friends aren't real friends too.) who can still experience the sadness of failing an exam and the bliss of topping one. It somehow seems foolish to relate those emotions now that most of them are busy with an entire new set of concerns (ie. work). But yeah, only a month more and I'll be in the same boat as them XDXD

I feel so out of it today. >_< I didn't expect my professor would speed right pass through mutuum and deposits and go straight to guaranty. And guess what? I couldn't answer any of the recitation questions he threw at me. Atty. Uribe (7) - Finalbell (0). XDXD Wasn't it obvious that I hadn't read anything at all about guaranty when I couldn't answer the first two questions? He would just love to prompt me expectantly whenever the class couldn't answer. Meh.Then we have an exam about death and inauthenticity and human personhood and capacity to perform intentional actions. The objective part was a breeze; it's my forte after all. But I guess I sucked at answering the essay as to who's the most accountable of the three characters in the movie "A Few Good Men". I knew the criteria and I have an answer in mind but I had trouble defending my answer. There are just too many angles to look at and situations to consider that I always get sidetracked in explaining my thoughts. I submitted a very poor essay I supposed. Blah.

At the risk of sounding very geeky, I am elated to find out I aced my Law on Sales midterms exam. >=D Thank God. I got a 98% which includes a 10% adjustment by the prof. The other class have four students hitting a hundred. But I'm happy with mine. XDXD

I must have a huge mark on the butt (or what our locals would call it balat sa pwet). My professor has this evil instinct driving him to call me for recitation everytime I decided not to re-read or review the textbook. *Sigh* He must've expected his students to read the law book at least 3 times as preparation for his recitation ordeals. Gosh, I don't have enough time for that. He should at least appreciate efforts of his students who read it at least once. What about my editing assignments, other subjects and my play time then?! I don't even have the time to sit long in front of the console and press controller buttons anymore. D:

The scans were posted up yesterday and the translations came today. It's amazing how diligent and zealous people in the Skip_beat Yahoo!Groups are. Given that it's Skipbeat's 100th chapter, a character ranking was made. Kyouko got ranked first with 2699 votes and closely followed by Ren with 2614 votes. Votes for Shou Fuwa, on third place, plumetted down to 699 votes. XD It's amusing to think that even Kyouko-demons have their own place in the top ten, as 9th placer. But the most surprising thing of all is.. Yoshiki Nakamura is MALE. I know I've read somewhere before that the mangaka is male but I decided it was just some error. Who would ever imagined that the creator of a yaoi (or was it shounen-ai) manga and showbiz-related shoujo manga is a guy. @_@

I'm not into reading mangas, surfing the net, watching anime or even scanlating lately. I spend most of my time sleeping, eating, going to school or... watching Ludwig play the PS2. She requested for one as part of her graduation gift, the other being a Graphire 4 Wacom tablet. It's not a total surpise if people can guess what game we'll hit on first as we were rambling about it in our blogs a long time ago while lamenting on the plight of not having the game console. So the game, if your curious, is not FFXII but Suikoden V. The main character has actually captivated my heart and earned my attention lately, but not so much as to overthrow my unhealthy infatuation with Suikoden II's semi-villain, Jowy Atreides. I called him semi-villain as he'd be your enemy in the latter part but he still has clean intents. I'm not being defensive or in a state of denial... really. XDIt's somehow relaxing, albeit amusing to think that it's nice to have less load this term so I can capitalize the console. It tempts me so to just forget about studying law, reading about philosophical ramblings of some dead person or working on the thesis. Oh hush! Thesis is such a bad word. D: We're at the part where we dread the most -- gathering data! It makes me wonder if we'll ever get enough respondents or shall we... *dismiss the thought*. Thank God my former boss in Nestle is willing to help me in sending out our survey. A few came back, which is good to hear, but we're actually meters... ah.. kilometers far from the end of the tunnel. Oh and a side note, wearing contact lenses does a lot of wonders eh? Aside the fact that it actually makes my face look wider like a balloon with pentel pen dots as eyes, it makes every CRT monitors look like LCD screens. Hell yeah.

Don't they always say that a bad start can ruin everything? Just wish it's not true this instance as I don't want to experience the week with a series of unfortunate events. ~_~ It wasn't that bad really... and I hope that nothing will come to make me change my mind. XDI came to school a little early so I decided to drop by the washroom and try to wrestle with my uncooperative hair once again. As I peeked on the hall, it made me wonder why there weren't a lot of people walking around to go to their next class. To make things certain, I checked my cellphone again for the time. And yes.. to my horror, I just thought I was early... but I wasn't. ^^;; All the time I thought my class starts at 10:40 when it was really 10:30. If I realized it right away, I wouldn't have to be late for class. Now I'm a step away in forfeiting my bonus points for perfect attendance. *gan* From the rate it's going, I'd be heavily relying on those points. And when I thought it would be smooth sailing from there on, I was called for recitation. My friend appropriately calls it "firing squad"; none of us had ever recited with perfect answers to the battery of questions. I too... was shot defenseless. What makes it sad is that sometimes the answers aren't in the book or isn't very obviously written. Now I've borrowed three additional law books in hopes that it would help me when the next firing comes.

After being sick for quite some time and having many strikes of absences, I still boldly took two days off this week to go to the beach. And with that, I guess it goes without saying that I CAN'T be absent anymore for the rest of the month and November. XD We landed in a 2nd-rate beach resort in Zambales. All our expectations soon turned into disappointments. The beach didn't have white sand unlike what you would normally expect of Zambales beaches. There was also no one there other than us so the beach resort became more like a private beach. I don’t know if that's a good or a bad thing. There weren't a lot of facilities in the place as all you can choose to do is jump over the beach or to the wee little pool that looks like a kids' pool, just that the other side of the pool is 6 feet deep. No television, refrigerator or water heater either. ^^;;Seeing that the small island in front of us have white sand, we asked the local fisherfolks to give us a ride. Eventually we found out that the island is called Capones Island. It looks like a pristine, exotic beach island lost in the middle of the sea. During high-tide, the middle portion of the island submerges under water, making it look like there are two different islands. It reminds me of the time when one of the judges in the Miss International Beauty Pageant asked our representative, "How many islands are there in the Philippines?", to which she replied, "It depends Sir. High-tide or low-tide?" Anyways, looks can indeed be deceiving. Upon landing on the shore, we were surprised to step on moss-covered rocks. The entire seafloor is laid with rocks, not sand. The seashore was also covered with shells and corals, making it painful to walk on the island. Plus! Somebody stole my slippers! How bad can things get? Fortunately, my foot just got a little scratch from all that painful walking. Naturally, we didn't stay long in the island. My brother asked the fisherman to give us a "cruise" around the island. The waves was getting bigger so I was a bit scared that our small boat might topple over in the middle of the sea. Oh! Did I mention that our boat was overloaded? When were heading back to Zambales, it was raining hard. How would you like to feel having the wind hitting you hard when you are soaking wet with seawater and having hard and big raindrops falling at you at the same time? We planned to go back to the room and wam ourselved with a shower but nobody dared to get in the room since the air conditioner was turned on the whole afternoon. We resorted to jumping in the small pool as it is a lot warmer there. So we went to the place with high expectations and got disappointed, then we were drove to deeper disappointment until we got contented with a small pool. XD

My cousin from Australia has been staying over at our house since last Friday while her mom arrived the day after. In an effort to make her stay in the Philippines more colorful, we decided to take her out for paintball or go kart. A lot of my cousins can't make it with us so we resorted to playing go kart instead. Paintball wouldn't be fun and challenging with just a few of you around. ^^;; Go kart was a lot of fun too, especially for a person like me who can't drive. I can’t help but compare it to playing Daytona or other racing arcade games in Timezone. XDXD I bet a lot of go kart aficionados would resent that statement. So for a person like me who never drove a car, unless bumpcars are counted, I think I did pretty decently. Never mind the fact that I almost run over a bystander who was idiotically standing beside the tracks with his back turned against me and the fact that I hit the walls once. The walls were padded so it wasn't painful or dangerous. I was slightly freaked out with the breaks since it doesn't seem to be working. For the entire 12 minutes I was driving on the tracks, I never hit the breaks, only letting go of the gas when I want to slow down a bit. So when it was time to park, I thought that my kart would hit my cousin who was parked in front of me. Just when I stopped and gave a sigh of relief, Fangli crashed into my kart and sent to me to wall. Now I have bruises on my back, nothing serious thankfully.

Typically, my mom would be comfortably snuggled on her bed and pillows until 9:30. But I got to see her in the morning before I left for work today since it's her birthday. So what do birthdays have to do with waking early? Nothing, just that she has to ironically rise at 6:00 AM to cook her own misua (birthday noodles). It has been an unspoken obligation for her to send some take-outs and misua to her siblings at this time of the year. So I ate the freshly cooked misua as breakfast, prepared my cereal snack for the afternoon and rushed out of the house as I am 20 minutes late only to realize that I haven't greet her at all! I knew it was her birthday. I kept on thinking about what present to give her. The misua makes it all obvious. And yet I forgot the most important thing. *sweatdrops*

I have two new fellow interns working under the same department and section. But apparently, their project has nothing to do with my assignment. They're tasked to conduct a study on workload distribution and how to make the system more efficient. From my end, it looks like business process re-engineering or something related to it. They also suggested that if they still have time, they can work on ergonomics such as deciding on the optimal noise and lighting intensity. Somehow, I was pretty amazed at my ignorance. XDMy boss is loaded with work the whole day whereas I'm killing time. Ironic isn' it? I'm here to assist her and yet it seems like I'm no help at all. Normally, I'd just pass time by searching resumes for the ever vacant Nutrition Representative, Sales and Marketing Trainee and Corporate Management Trainee - Technical Division. But since I can't log into the jobstreet account as somebody else is using it, I'm left with so little to do. Just suddenly thought of blogging in the tiny wee little notepad window to make it seems like I'm pretty busy with work. =/

Term break literally ended for me today as I have to start reporting to Nestle this morning. Yes, Nestle again. And yes, Human Resources again. But a little bit better this time as I'm with Benefits. Although that's what the name indicates, my boss says that the bulk of my work is to complete the HR intranet website. Whoopee! It's not as glamorous as it sounds since I'm hands-off with designing. All that's there is just completing the pages, updating information and correcting deadlinks. Nevertheless, I find that a little bit more fulfilling than revising contracts.

I'm in an layout designing spree. Just after making my LJ layout, I was pretty much inspired to do another one.Initially, I was thinking of simply changing the banner but it ended up a little more than that. Personally, I like this one a lot better.
The layout looks ugh on firefox, especially the sidebar. Somehow, I can't get to reconcile both browsers. Until I can figure out a remedy, this would be how it looks like. =
